Why I love boutique hotels

There’s something about boutique hotels which makes me feel like I’ve got my own little holiday home abroad. Chain hotels have their place of course – you know what you’re getting, and the prices are competitive. But boutique places have a more homely, independent feel, offering something special that you won’t get anywhere else. It’s also nice to know you’re supporting an independent business, rather than a chain. There’s also something very romantic about boutique hotels, so if I’m whisking someone away for a holiday, I’ll always choose this option over a chain hotel, even if the latter is especially luxurious.
